The chill of winter is definitely here and I’m sorry to tell you, but it’s here to stay. So, what is a fashionable girl to do to stay warm and keep it stylish this winter? Well, I have a few things that are a must for chic winter survival and they won’t make you feel like an abominable snow woman either. You can stay warm and look cute this winter, I promise!
Over-sized Cardigans and Sweaters
The first step to keeping warm this winter is to have a healthy collection of oversized sweaters and cardigans to wrap yourself up in. These will be a reoccuring theme for your winter look, so stock up! Be careful not to wear these so big you look frumpy. Pair them with skinny jeans or a great pair of patterned leggings. Sweaters look great layered over a collared button up shirt and with a large statement necklace.
Favorite Pair of Jeans
Everyone has their go-to pair of jeans that they can dress up or down in an instant and well, the Lee skinny jeans are incredibly comfortable and give you just the right amount of stretch. Skinny jeans are a winter staple for showing off your knee high boots or keeping things stylish while walking through the snow in those furry winter boots.
Leg Warmers & Leggings
These are the ultimate must-have accessory for surviving the winter in style. These leg warmers look perfect with leggings or Lee skinny jeans and a pair of knee high boots. Make sure you have them peek out of the top of your boots to add that extra layer of cuteness. If you really want to show them off (and a bit adventurous) you can try wearing them with tights and bunching them up more at the ankles and pulled over your ankle boots or ankle wedge boots.
Cozy Slippers & Throw Blankets
Everyone needs a cute pair of slippers to wear around the house and I’m not talking about your grandma’s pink fluffy ones. Slippers have come a long way and can be pretty cute. If you live in a house with tile or hardwood floors then these are a must for keeping your toes warm. Throw blankets for cuddling up on the couch are also a must for those long winter days and family movie nights.
Nordic Manicure & Pedicure
Just because you are not wearing sandals and flip flops doesn’t mean you should ignore your feet. Choose some glittery winter colors like shimmery golds and silvers and creamy browns. Or paint your nails to match how you take your coffee, a cinnamon spice latte! I love this color “My Voice is a little Noice” from the OPI Nordic Collection.
Body Scrub & Nourishing Lip Gloss
Turn your shower into a steam room and treat yourself to a body scrub a few times a week to exfoliate that dry skin. This brown sugar body scrub from Fresh uses four different oils to nourish and moisturize the skin leaving it extremely silky smooth. When applying lip gloss in the winter make sure it is doing double duty, this one from Urban Decay has vitamin E, avocado oil and shea butter to hydrate and condition lips.
Books & Coffee
These two are made for each other. Curl up with a good book and your favorite cup of coffee either at home, or at your favorite coffee shop. Nothing says a perfect winter day like getting lost in a book that can take you a million worlds away, and perhaps a warmer and sunnier world will make your day even better!
Stylish Hat & Finger-less Gloves
Hats and gloves, the winter accessories that are an absolute must for keeping you toasty warm. Wearing a stylish winter hat also helps to cover up a bad hair day, so they’re not all that bad. I love fingerless gloves that come with the mitten attachment for a few reasons. You can keep your fingers warm but also uncover them to help your kids with zippers and buckles and for texting or tweeting, then cover them up for pushing the stroller or driving.
