Into the Blue (and White!) for Spring

Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 10.14.16 AMAfter months and months of enduring the awful polar vortex, it feels so good to be able to shed those heavy layers and dark hues.

Spring cleaning is fully underway in our home, which means I’ve been moving the chunky sweaters and heavy coats to storage and updating my closet with light and breezy pieces.

One of my favorite color combinations for spring is white and blue. It reminds me of strolls on the beach and picnics in the park. But if you live somewhere other than the South (like me!), you know that spring weather isn’t always sunshine and flowers. It can get seriously cold – especially at night!

The easiest way to incorporate these light hues is start with the basics – denim! You can update your look with lighter washes and even white (yes, you can wear white on your bottom half, ladies!).

This Lee denim jacket is my go-to for windy days and chilly nights. Denim jackets look great over anything. It is seriously the most versatile piece in my wardrobe.

White denim continues to be a trend for spring. I love pairing it with cobalt and navy blue tones.
