Is it just me or is daylight saving time confusing? So if you usually sleep until 6 a.m., on Nov. 2 when your smartphone updates (we have to remember to change the other clocks) we’ll gain one hour and 6 a.m. will become 5 a.m. One more precious hour of sunlight presents so many possibilities. Here are five of our favorite suggestions to make the most of that bonus time:
1. Sleep In
Don’t question it. Get an extra hour of beauty rest. You deserve it.
2. Take Time for Breakfast
Take your extra hour to prepare a healthy and satisfying breakfast or surprise and delight the family with what’s sure to be a new favorite — famous banana pancakes.
3. Organize Your Closet
This one task will continue to pay off as the year goes on. Getting organized means less time hunting for that other shoe and more time that you’re not stressing about your morning meeting or getting the kids to school. It also means more space for some new jeans. Or more time for banana pancakes, your call.
4. Discover Your Fit and the Jeans You Needed All Along
Do your current jeans pass the sit down test? Or do they gap at the waist and yet are tight in the thigh? Utilize a fraction of your extra hour by taking our fit finder quiz. Don’t spend another minute in something that doesn’t look and feel good.
5. Work Out
We all get it: exercise has a ton of benefits. From feeling better and having more energy, to shaping our figures, we’re all a bit happier if we exercise. You don’t even need a gym membership! Although, if you have one, now you actually have time to get there. (Thanks daylight saving time 2014!) With easy at-home workouts, you have time to make a change.
Don’t forget to set your clocks to “fall back” an hour Nov. 2. Tell us how you’re spending your extra hour in the comments below!
