7 Things Every Guy Should Have in His Closet

Imagine your closet — What do you see? Do you see a few well-constructed outfits you could wear right now? Or do you see a struggle to get dressed each morning? It’s possible you haven’t even thought of it. Well, let me make it easy for you… With these seven items, your wardrobe can’t fail. You will always succeed at getting dressed in the morning. And sometimes, that’s a hard battle to win.

1. A Great Pair of Jeans

Jeans: A man’s staple. You wear them every day, so invest in a few well-fitting, comfortable pairs in washes that you like. They will go a long way, but I don’t think you need me to tell you that.

2. Tee(s)

V-neck, crew neck, white, purple, striped — you name it, you need it. Tees are essential to throwing on underneath a dress shirt, layering up or just wearing solo.

3. A Perfectly Tailored Suit

At some point, you’ll need this. Even if your job isn’t very formal or professional. Think of the weddings, events and potential nights out this suit could assist in. And yes, it needs to be tailored. It will look all the better.

Added bonus: The suit jacket can be worn dressy with jeans or casual pants — it’s versatile!

4. A Knit Sweater

When you think knit sweater, think layers of comfort. Start with one for the spring, just the sweater. As it gets colder, build on: Wear it over a button-up shirt. Still cold? That’s where your suit jacket comes in. One knit sweater goes farther than you might think.

5. A Pair of Dress Shoes

6. Patterned Button-up

Consider it your go-to. It’s no secret that a button-up shirt is necessary for a formal occasion, but it also adds a dressier vibe to a casual jean or pant. The added pattern looks like you added effort. Enough said.

7. Sneakers

So the next time you’re massaging your beard while staring into your closet, remember this: it’s as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. What items can you not live without? Share in the comments below.
