15 Things to do Before Christmas

Holiday season is in full swing. The lights are up, bells are ringing and there’s that feeling in the air. It really is a special time, and only comes around once a year. Unfortunately, all of the hustle and bustle is easy to get swept up in … and if we don’t take advantage of the season while it’s here, we’re likely to regret it. Last season, I didn’t drive around and look at any holiday decorations — not even once. You can bet that won’t happen this year! To help you make the most of the holiday season, we’ve compiled a list of holiday-themed activities to make sure you’re left feeling cheerful — not regretful — when it’s over. trim the tree Trim the tree. It will keep your home bright and festive, and act as a reminder to revel in the season. cocoa Make hot cocoa and serve with cookies, a blanket and preferably someone to snuggle with. craft Craft. Create your own ornament, wreath or knit a hat. The options are endless and you’ll pick up a new skill. Write a letter to Santa. Write down your Christmas wish list and seal it with a kiss. Visit Santa. Take it one step further — Go see him at the mall, sit on his lap and get the obligatory “Santa’s lap” photo taken. Go to (or host) a holiday party because … duh. Parties are fun! Go sledding for a good old-fashioned adrenaline rush! Just make sure there’s actually snow. Have a family Christmas movie night. Make some holiday eggnog and gather ’round the TV with a stack of your favorites. Wear new Christmas PJs to bed. It’s cold and new jammies make it better. Especially when they have little snowmen on them. cookies Decorate cookies. You definitely don’t want to skip this one. They don’t need to be perfect, you just need to have fun. (Plus, they’ll be delicious no matter how they look.) Drive around to see Christmas lights. There’s something seriously romantic about the way the lights twinkle. Go ice-skating. It sounds cheesy, but it’s a great way to get active in the chilly weather and it always promises a good time. Plan a special holiday date night. Whether it’s a night in or a night out, take advantage of the romance of the season and light that fire with your sweetie. wrap presents Wrap your presents. You won’t regret getting it done early.
